When Alan left Tavistock College he served a four year apprenticeship with Tavistock based T F Kearns and Co Ltd whilst attending Plymouth College Art and Design. For two years running Alan achieved Apprentice of the Year with the highest overall marks: 93% in Technology and 87% in Craft Science and Industrial Studies and completed his National City and Guilds with Distinction.
Since leaving college, over 37 years ago, Alan has gained a wealth of experience in the building industry working on all types of commercial and domestic properties and covering all aspects of the building trade.
Commercial properties, such as, banks, building societies, shops, pubs, clubs, hotels and guest houses
Domestic properties, such as, private houses, barn conversions, new builds and complete refurbishment projects.
